Commentary:
The site was difficult to develop because of excessive hard granite rock encountered on the site. Over 50,000CY of rock had to be blasted, delaying the building pad. The delay pushed the building pad site preparation work into the winter months further adding to site costs. These delays had to be made up during the construction of the building, requiring an accelerated schedule. There was no float in the original schedule adding to the Building Cost. Despite these setbacks, the school opened on schedule.
