A boat-shaped central stair provides a backdrop for the stage in the multi-purpose cafeteria. The composite roof structure (steel and parallel strand lumber) was designed to mimic the framing inside the hull of a boat. Sound-absorbing “sails” continue the nautical theme. The cafeteria seats 400.
