PS 40 M and PS 33 MIntroduction This aim of this project was to transform the barren and underutilized areas of these two schools into much needed play space for the students. The playgrounds were both designed by the architect as a way to introduce a narrative of New York’s history on the level of young children. Utilizing the iconography of the city, the schools, which are both located in Manhattan have introduced a New York City on the scale of young children.
