A roof terrace provides an outdoors "commons."On the second floor of the addition above the interior "commons," a roof terrace provides much needed outdoor space on this half-acre site. The varied massing of the addition enabling this terrace, also allows natural light into the two buildings. Since the two buildings occupy over 80% of the site and any open space around the historic building was previously used for parking, this open space is much anticipated. In the image, the four story portion of the addition is in background.
