Architect Narrative

Today, it is commonly accepted that “fit students excel.” Successful educational institutions are focusing on the physical as well as mental well being of students. The 170,000 sq. ft. new student recreation center provides a place for the 22,775 students on campus to visit, play compete, swim and develop a healthy lifestyle. A climbing wall elevated running track and free weights area allows for more vigorous individual activities.

Leisure swimming facilities, Jacuzzi and multipurpose areas provide a winding down space for the hectic student lifestyle. Friends can visit over a cup of coffee or juice in the café area of the facility while quiet study areas complement the casual lounge spaces throughout the facility.
